Initially, it was a casserole with bechamel sauce made from mushrooms, veal and potatoes, and later this delicious delicacy acquired a crispy cheese crust - gratin, which gave it a special piquant charm. 4. Peel the potatoes and cut into thin circles.
5. Grate the cheese and cut the onion into thin quarter rings or just small cubes.
6.For the sauce, peel and chop the garlic very finely, combine it with sour cream and mayonnaise, stir.

10. On this layer you can place tomatoes, cut into thin circles (however, French beef is delicious without them, so if you don’t add it, it’s okay!).
11. Sprinkle the top with cheese and be sure to brush it with sauce, otherwise the cheese will burn.
12. Heat the oven to 190-200 degrees, place the meat for baking for 1 hour, no less, because beef itself is not soft. If necessary, reduce the temperature while baking so that the top or bottom of the dish does not burn.
13. Check the readiness of the potatoes and meat after an hour; if necessary, keep the dish in the oven for a few minutes.
14. Serve hot French-style beef to the table in portions or on one large platter.

Juicy French-style meat with potatoes, cheese and tomatoes
With cheese and tomatoes, French-style meat will be even tastier than the usual classic version of this dish. For pork, in addition to ground black pepper, ground coriander, basil, oregano, paprika, turmeric, curry, and rosemary are also suitable. By the way, this dish can be prepared without potatoes; pork is perfectly baked with onions, cheese and tomatoes on a baking sheet, and then served with any side dish, but our recipe contains potatoes.
Ingredients:
- Pork – 600-800 gr.
- Potatoes – 500-600 gr.
- Tomatoes – 3-4 pcs.
- Onions – 2-3 pcs.
- Hard cheese – 150-200 gr.
- Mayonnaise – 3-4 tbsp. l.
- Sour cream – 3-4 tbsp. l.
- Salt - to taste.
- Spices for pork - to taste.
- Vegetable oil - for greasing the mold.
Cooking process:
1. Cut pork without bones and tendons into portions the size and thickness of a small woman’s palm.
2. Beat the meat on both sides, covering with cling film.
3. Next, add salt to each piece of meat and season to taste: while you work on the other ingredients, the meat will marinate.
4. Peel the potatoes and onions; Cut the potatoes into circles 3-5 mm thick, and the onion into thin quarter rings or cubes.
6. Grate the cheese.
6. Cut the meat into palm-sized portions, onions into rings, tomatoes and potatoes into slices, cheese on a coarse grater.
7. Cut the tomatoes with a thin knife so as not to crush them into mugs no thicker than potatoes.
8. Place potatoes in the first layer on a baking sheet greased with vegetable oil, add salt and pepper.
9. The second layer is pork. The third layer is onions, the fourth is tomato mugs.
10. Sprinkle the tomatoes with cheese, coat the top of the dish with sauce (mayonnaise + sour cream).
11. While you are assembling the layers of the dish, your oven should already heat up to 190-200 degrees.
12. Bake the meat with potatoes, cheese and tomatoes for no more than 50-60 minutes (or use your oven as a guide). If the cheese on top quickly begins to brown, then reduce the heat a little so that the dish is cooked inside.
13. Check the readiness by checking the potatoes: when they become soft, you know that everything else is already baked. Eat this dish with fresh or pickled vegetables, hot or slightly cooled.

Delicious French-style meat cooked in foil in the oven
Meat in French can be baked not only on an open baking sheet, but also in foil. This type of cooking is perfect if the meat is a little tough, because the foil holds back all the juices, preventing them from evaporating. The dish can be prepared with or without potatoes. If you decide without potatoes, then place the meat on a layer of foil, greased with oil, and then proceed according to the recipe.
Ingredients:
- Pork – 600 gr.
- Potatoes – 500-600 gr.
- Onions – 3 pcs.
- Hard cheese – 300 gr.
- Mayonnaise – 150 ml.
- Salt - to taste.
- Ground black pepper - to taste.
- Spices for pork - to taste.
Cooking process:
1. Rinse pork (or beef) tenderloin or any other meat part without bones and tendons, cut into pieces no thicker than 1 cm and the size of your palm.
2. Beat the meat on both sides, covering it with film, but do not make the pieces too thin, otherwise all the juiciness will disappear from them.
3. Now, to make the tough meat juicier, you need to marinate it in a small amount of mayonnaise, after rubbing it with salt and spices.
4. Peel the potatoes and cut into thin slices or halves if the potatoes are too large.
5. Wash the onion, peel it, cut it into half rings.
6. Grate hard cheese (you can also melt it if you keep it in the freezer for an hour) on a coarse grater.
7. From foil, folded in two layers, form a container for baking your dish. It is most convenient to make several small foil boxes, for example, according to the number of intended eaters.
8. Grease the inside of the mold with vegetable oil, place the potatoes on the bottom, then salt them and sprinkle with a little ground black pepper.
9. Place meat on potatoes, and a layer of onion on meat.
10. Sprinkle the onion with cheese and grease everything with mayonnaise.
eleven.Wrap the meat completely in foil, but leave a little space on top so that the mayonnaise does not smear on the foil.
12. The dish is baked in the oven at 190-200 degrees for about 45-60 minutes (if you have small foil boxes, the meat will bake in them faster).
13. When the meat and potatoes are completely cooked, unroll the foil on top and hold the dish under the grill so that a delicious golden-brown cheese crust appears on top.

French-style meat with onions and potatoes
In order to prepare delicious French-style meat with onions and potatoes, you will need the simplest ingredients: any meat without bones and tendons, onions or any other onion of your choice, cheese, potatoes, mayonnaise and spices. And the cooking recipe couldn’t be simpler!
Ingredients:
- Any meat without bones – 0.5 kg.
- Potatoes – 0.5 kg.
- Onion – 2 pcs.
- Tomatoes – 2-3 pcs. optional.
- Garlic - to taste.
- Hard cheese – 150 gr.
- Mayonnaise + sour cream – 3 tbsp. l.

Cooking process:
1. Peel the potatoes, wash them, cut them into circles no more than 5 mm thick.
2. Wash any meat (if it is pork or beef, then it should be a tenderloin or fillet, and for chicken it should be a fillet), cut into palm-sized pieces no more than 1 cm thick.
3. Beat the meat a little on both sides, covering with film.
4. Grease the bottom of the baking dish with a little vegetable oil and place potato mugs on it.
5. Salt and pepper the potatoes to taste (you can use a ready-made set of spices for potatoes).
6.Next, place the meat on the potatoes, add salt and pepper, and also season it with other spices for meat, if you want, but in principle, salt and black pepper are already enough to make this dish tasty.
7. If you have dry pork or beef, then you can grease it a little with mayonnaise on top for juiciness.
8. Peel the onions and garlic, cut the onions into thin quarter rings, or chop them more finely. Chop the garlic finely with a knife.
9. Place chopped garlic and onion evenly on the meat. There should be a lot of onions, even if they are bitter, because when baked, the bitterness goes away from the onions, and its juice saturates any meat well.
10. Cut the tomatoes into thin circles or halves of circles. Place them on a layer of onions.
11. Grate the hard cheese and distribute over the tomatoes.
12. Grease the dish with a thin layer of mayonnaise and sour cream on top. You can use mayonnaise alone if it is not too greasy.

14. Easy to prepare, French-style meat with onions will decorate your table, both on weekdays and on holidays. Eat it hot!
