How to make homemade marshmallows from fruit puree?
Modern housewives recognize that preparing marshmallows in an electric dryer is a more progressive, economical and professional method compared to other methods. The pastille is dried on special trays for an average of 12–16 hours. This device consumes little energy, an average of 170 W/hour. Pastille is prepared from fruit or vegetable puree, boiled or, more often, raw with the addition of a small amount of sugar. Place no more than 1.5 cups of puree on 1 tray.
Cooking time: 13 hours.
Cooking time: 40 minutes.
Portions: 200 gr.
Ingredients:
- Fruit or vegetable puree - 1.5 tbsp.
- Sugar - to taste.
Cooking process:
Step 1. For marshmallows, select ripe and soft fruits, even preferably overripe ones. Most often, marshmallows are prepared from apples, plums, pears and berries. The pan must be lubricated with a small amount of vegetable oil.
Step 2. Washed and peeled and seeded fruits are crushed to puree using any blender.
Step 3. The puree is poured onto each tray and it is evenly distributed, but the layer of puree in the middle of the tray is thicker than at the edges. The thickness of the puree layer should be no more than 0.5 cm.
Step 4: Use no more than 1.5 cups of fruit or vegetable puree per tray. If the puree is prepared by cooking, it must be cooled.
Step 5. The tray with puree is carefully placed in the dryer. If you fill the tray immediately in the dryer, you can spill puree into the device, which will disrupt its operation. Also, the dryer does not move during operation.
Step 6. The readiness of the marshmallow (tomato marshmallow in the photo) is checked by hand: it should not stick to the palm in the center of the pan, although the berry and banana marshmallows retain their stickiness.
Step 7. The prepared marshmallow is carefully removed from the tray, rolled into tubes and stored in an airtight container. Marshmallows last longer in the refrigerator than at home temperature.
Step 8. Pastila, especially vegetable pastille, is diluted with juice or water in a 1:1 ratio and used in the form of puree and sauce. There are tables for combining vegetables and fruits for making marshmallows.
