Sbiten is an ancient Slavic drink that is in great demand to this day, and this can be explained very simply, because no one can resist the rich combination of honey, various spices and aromatic herbs. Sbiten makes you fall in love with it from the first sip, especially if you prepare it with raspberries, apples or sea buckthorn - all these additional components are not at all necessary, however, they affect the taste in an extremely positive way.
Non-alcoholic sbiten - a classic recipe at home
Non-alcoholic sbiten is a moderately spicy and sweetish drink, which you won’t spend much time preparing, but will surprise your taste buds. Having tasted sbiten just once, you will be cooking it almost every other day - guaranteed!

- Black tea 1.5 (glasses)
- Honey 4 (tablespoons)

Sbiten can be easily prepared at home. Place all the necessary components on the work surface.

Place spices and honey in a ladle.

Next, pour the tea leaves and boiling water; there should be about three glasses of liquid.

Place the refractory cookware on the burner and, bringing to a boil, simmer over low heat for 5 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, remove any foam that forms.

Let it sit, covered, for 3-5 minutes and strain through a sieve or cheesecloth.

To preserve the heat for a long time, pour it into a thermos and start tasting!
Sbiten with honey and ginger
Sbiten with honey and ginger is a healthy alternative to coffee that will charge you with vigor and energy. By preparing this drink, you will increase your immunity, and also be able to enjoy the pleasant taste and delicate aroma. For cooking we only need water, honey and spices.

Ingredients:
- Water – 4-5 tbsp.
- Honey – 1 tbsp.
- Ginger root – 1 piece (4 cm.)
- Lemon juice - to taste.
- Cloves - to taste.
- Vanillin - to taste.
- Cinnamon - to taste.
- Cardamom - to taste.
- Allspice peas - to taste.
- Anise - to taste.
Cooking process:
Step 1. Grind the peeled ginger root using a grater, and at the same time bring water to a boil in a saucepan.
Step 2. Place the aromatic shavings in water.
Step 3. Next, add all the above-mentioned herbs and spices, boil a second time and cook under a closed lid for about 15 minutes. After removing from the burner, leave for another 15-20 minutes.
Step 4. After time, filter the drink and add sour lemon juice.
Step 5. Add natural bee honey and mix thoroughly until completely dissolved.
Step 6. Pour into cups and take a sample.
Sea buckthorn sbiten
Sea buckthorn sbiten is an aromatic drink that will warm you up on dark winter evenings and give you a good mood. In addition to its excellent taste characteristics, sbiten is very beneficial for the body, since sea buckthorn contains a large amount of vitamins, as well as macro- and microelements.

Ingredients:
- Water – 1.5 l.
- Liquid honey – 150 ml.
- Sea buckthorn – 200 gr.
- Oranges – 1 pc.
- Cloves – 4 buds.
- Cinnamon sticks – 2 pcs.
- Star anise – 2 pcs.
- Ginger root - to taste.
Cooking process:
Step 1. To speed up the process and make it more convenient, prepare the components.
Step 2. Pour the sea buckthorn into a saucepan, add water and cook for about 8-10 minutes from the moment it boils, remembering to remove the foam with a slotted spoon.
Step 3. Throw in small slices of ginger.
Step 4. Also add spices, boil for about 10 minutes and remove from the stove. Leave, covered, for 15-20 minutes.
Step 5. Then filter the composition using a sieve with small holes.
Step 6. Flavor with liquid honey and the juice of one citrus fruit.
Step 7. Serve the sbiten warm and enjoy its unique taste!
Apple sbiten
Apple sbiten differs significantly in taste from the classic version, however, this is only beneficial for the drink, because apples saturate the taste with their mouth-watering notes. For cooking, we recommend choosing fruits of sweet and sour varieties, it will be much tastier!

- Water – 1.5 l.
- Apples – 2 pcs.
- Dried mint – 2 tsp.
- Ginger root – 10-20 gr.
- Cinnamon sticks – 1 pc.
- Cloves – 4 buds.
- Honey – 5 tbsp.
Cooking process:
Step 1.We wash the fruits under running water and cut them into slices, cutting out the seed pod.
Step 2. Prepare the additives.
Step 3. Pour apples, pieces of peeled ginger, mint and cinnamon stick into a heat-resistant deep container and fill with cool water.
Step 4. Bring the broth to a boil and cover with a lid, simmer on low heat for 15 minutes, removing the foam.
Step 5. Remove the saucepan from the stove and add honey, stir thoroughly and keep covered for another 15 minutes.
Step 6. Strain the sbiten and pour into cups.

Old Russian sbiten with herbs
Starorussian sbiten with herbs is a healthy vitamin drink that will appeal to all those who like to eat exclusively natural products. For cooking we need the following ingredients: ginger, rose hips, linden, chamomile and other additives.

Ingredients:
- Water – 1 l.
- Orange peels – 5 gr.
- Fresh ginger – 10 gr.
- Dried linden – 1 tbsp.
- Rose hips – 5-7 pcs.
- Chamomile – 1 tbsp.
- Cinnamon sticks – 1 pc.
- Cloves – 3 buds.
- Dried lemon balm - to taste.
- Honey – 10 tsp.
Cooking process:
Step 1. Put a pan of water on the fire and in the meantime prepare the herbs in a bowl: add linden, chamomile and lemon balm.
Step 2. Next we throw in the broken rose hips.
Step 3. Dry orange peels and peeled and chopped ginger.
Step 4. Also, don’t forget about cloves and aromatic cinnamon.
Step 5. Add assorted spices and herbs to boiling water, boil and leave under the lid or in a tightly closed thermos for 120 minutes.
Step 6. Strain the rich drink and add honey - let's start tasting!
Raspberry sbiten
Raspberry sbiten is a real riot of flavors and aromas that will undoubtedly delight you. To prepare a healthy drink, we need freshly frozen raspberries, which will imbue the sbiten with its sweetish taste.

- Water – 1-1.2 l.
- Fresh frozen raspberries – 400 gr.
- Honey – 150 gr.
- Cinnamon – 1 stick.
- Cloves – 3-4 buds.
- Mint - to taste.
- Ginger root – 10-20 gr.
Cooking process:
Step 1. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan.
Step 2. Add all the spices, except mint, to boiling water and mix.
Step 3. Pour the raspberry juice into the liquid, grind the berries themselves through a fine sieve and also put them in the drink.
Step 4. Add bee honey, mix vigorously and simmer on low heat for 10-15 minutes.
Step 5. Pour the hot sbiten into portioned dishes and add mint - take a sample.
Cranberry sbiten at home
Cranberry whipping at home is a simple and quick way to warm yourself up on a cold evening, replacing sweet teas with sugar or strong coffee with such a healthy alternative. Thanks to the use of berries, the drink is saturated with incredible taste with a hint of sourness.

Ingredients:
- Water – 4 l.
- Frozen cranberries – 500 gr.
- Honey – 8 tbsp.
- Granulated sugar – 8 tbsp.
- Cloves – 5 buds.
- Cinnamon stick – 1 pc.
- Cardamom – 3 pcs.
Cooking process:
Step 1. We carefully sort the berries and rinse them under running water. At the same time, bring four liters of water to a boil in a saucepan.
Step 2. Place the cranberries in boiling water and cook for 5 minutes. Place on a sieve and be sure to save the broth.
Step 3.Place the berries in a colander over a bowl of broth and mash them into a puree.
Step 4. Place the mixture on the burner and simmer on low flame for 20 minutes. Then add cardamom, cinnamon and cloves. We put honey.
Step 5. Take a sample, and if there is not enough sweetness, then add granulated sugar and mix.
Step 6. Strain, pour into cups and enjoy!
Coffee sbiten
Coffee whipped coffee is a healthy and warming alternative to regular ground coffee, which raises blood pressure and increases heart rate. To balance the flavor, delicious ingredients like candied ginger, aromatic cinnamon, and any syrup you like are used.

Ingredients:
- Ground coffee – 2 tsp.
- Candied ginger – 1 handful.
- Water – 300 ml.
- Syrup – 50 ml.
- Cloves – 4 buds.
- Ground cinnamon – 1/3 tsp.
- Ground nutmeg – 2 pinches.
- Lemon juice - to taste.
Cooking process:
Step 1. Pour a handful of candied ginger along with clove buds into a ladle.
Step 2. Add natural coffee.
Step 3. Add nutmeg and cinnamon - fill with water and place on fire.
Step 4. Bring the mixture to a boil and turn off the heat. Close the lid and set aside for 5 minutes.
Step 5. Pour the aromatic sbiten into bowls and add lemon juice and sweet syrup.
Step 6. Enjoy!
Spicy sbiten with cinnamon
Spicy cinnamon whipping was the most popular hot drink before the advent of loose leaf tea, which is of course inferior in taste. However, don’t be lazy and be sure to try making a spicy and very tasty warming sbiten. Believe me, your household will ask for more!

- Water – 1200 ml.
- Dried mint – 2 tsp.
- Cinnamon stick – 1 pc.
- Ginger – 10 gr.

Step 1. Prepare the components.
Step 2. Boil water in a saucepan and remove from the burner, add honey and mix thoroughly.
Step 3. Return the sweet water to the stove and flavor it with peeled ginger, mint, cinnamon and cloves - cook on low heat for about 15 minutes from the moment it boils.
Step 4. Pass the rich drink through a fine sieve or cheesecloth and serve.
Step 5. Taste and enjoy!
Homemade sbiten with orange
Homemade sbiten with orange, prepared with the addition of sea buckthorn, is a real vitamin “bomb”, which, in addition to its beneficial properties, will pleasantly surprise you with its bright and rich taste. And all this, despite the elementary preparation process and available components.

Ingredients:
- Water – 1.3 l.
- Sea buckthorn – 80 gr.
- Oranges – 2 pcs.
- Honey – 150 gr.
- Ginger root – 40 gr.
- Cinnamon sticks – 2 pcs.
- Cloves – 5 buds.
Cooking process:
Step 1. Pour sea buckthorn into a saucepan and fill with water (300 milliliters).
Step 2. Boil the composition on minimal heat for 15 minutes, being sure to remove the foam. Afterwards, separate the berries from the broth and grind through a sieve, directly over a heat-resistant bowl.
Step 3. In a separate saucepan, combine oranges, cut into rings, cinnamon sticks, honey (reserve 1-2 tablespoons) and spices.
Step 4. Pour the remaining water over the ingredients and bring to a boil, boil under a loosely closed lid for 10 minutes. We filter the broth.
Step 5. Mix the two liquids, adding the remaining honey - mix and take a sample!
