Step 3. Place the trimmings in a saucepan and add water. Boil and remove the foam with a slotted spoon. Peel the onion, cut it into pieces and place it in the broth. Cook for 20 minutes, remembering to add salt.
Step 4. Peel the root vegetables with a vegetable peeler and cut into cubes. Pour the cooked broth into another pan, passing the liquid through a sieve. Throw away the onions and trimmings.
Step 5.Place chopped root vegetables in clean broth and place on the stove. After boiling, cook until the vegetables are cooked.
Step 6. Using a slotted spoon, remove the potatoes (about a quarter of the total). Add butter and knead until smooth.
Step 7. Transfer the crushed potatoes into the broth. Pour in milk and cream. It is permissible to use only milk or only cream. We wait for it to boil and reduce the flame. Season with salt, pepper and bay leaf. If desired, add your favorite spices. Place salmon pieces. After boiling, cook for 5 minutes and turn off the stove.
