Fried catfish in batter in a frying pan
Fried catfish in batter in a frying pan is a delicious dish that every family can afford. Like other types of fish, catfish is prepared quickly and easily. You can use any batter, but, in our opinion, the most delicious combination is made with corn flour.
- Catfish fillet 6 pieces (900 gr.)
- Kefir 250 (milliliters)
- Corn flour 160 (grams)
- Wheat flour 120 (grams)
- Salt taste
- Paprika 1 (teaspoons)
- Ground cayenne pepper 1 (teaspoons)
- Garlic powder ½ (teaspoons)
- Vegetable oil for frying
-
Measure out all the seasonings and both types of flour. Cut the catfish fillet into portions.
-
Turn on the oven in advance and preheat it to 90 degrees. Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on it.
-
Place the fillet in a deep bowl and pour kefir over it.
-
In a separate bowl, mix both flours, salt, paprika, cayenne pepper and garlic powder.
-
Remove the fillet pieces from the kefir mixture and bread them in the flour mixture.
-
Take a frying pan with a thick bottom, heat it and pour in a large amount of vegetable oil. The oil, in turn, should heat up to 175 degrees, after which it will be possible to lay out the fish.
-
Place 2-3 pieces of fillet on hot oil. If the fish is completely drowned in oil, then fry for 5-6 minutes.
-
If the fish is not completely covered with oil, then fry the fillet on both sides for 2.5-3 minutes.
-
Transfer the fried fish to a wire rack, place in the oven and cook the catfish until cooked. This method of cooking allows you to make the fish as tender and juicy inside as possible.
-
Serve fried catfish with any sauce or side dish of your choice. Bon appetit!
